Peccioli presents itself to visitors in a unique guise thanks to the artistic installations present in the capital and in the hamlets.
In fact, it is precisely because of the combination of Tuscan tradition and contemporary art that the area has become an authentic open-air museum over the years.
We propose an itinerary that takes place entirely in the center of the town, is easily practicable on foot and, to be completed with the viewing of all over twenty works, requires a walk of about two hours during which it is still possible to stop in one of the bars and restaurants located in the historic center. you can taste artisanal ice cream with a view, let us advise you on what to see and where to eat.

It was one of the main city-states of ancient Tuscany (Etruria), seat in the Middle Ages of an important episcopal lordship with jurisdiction over a large part of the Tuscan hills. It preserves a historic center of Etruscan origin (from this era the well-preserved Porta all'Arco remains; the Porta Diana, which preserves the blocks of the jambs; a large part of the city walls, built with cyclopean blocks of local stone; the acropolis, where there are the foundations of two temples, various buildings and some cisterns; several hypogea used for the burial of the deceased), with Roman ruins (among all the hemicycle theatre) and medieval buildings such as the cathedral, the Medici Fortress and the Palazzo dei Priori on the square of the same name, in the historic centre.
